Huge thanks to Dave Payne, owner-operator of Sparkle Kleen Carpet Cleaning for generously donating professional carpet cleaning services to Mousewood.
Our one-million-year-old stairway carpet (give or take a few centuries 😄) from the main floor (Chickadee Nest) to the new childcare program downstairs (Bunny Burrow) has been transformed!
Dave went over the steps and risers several times with his truck-mounted cleaning system. Now I feel confident that the children can walk or crawl on stairs that are actually clean!

Ashton
and
Renee
Ashton and Renee have been meeting with our volunteer coordinator Every Saturday from 10am - 2pm for months to work on projects such as putting up fences, building pathways, clearing debris, and other landscaping labour.
They stepped up where no one else did.
We are deeply grateful for their dedication to creating a wonderful place for our children.
Michael
Michael accomplished incredibly hard work in preparing the first forest classroom and the "Valley-Below". The areas that we currently use are completely unrecognisable from the terrible condition they were in when we first arrived.
He continues to pitch in, even making weekly trips to the transfer station with our garbage and recycling so that we can avoid using the garbage can here, as so not to attract bears and scavaging wildlife.
Brian
Brian has done many jobs around Mousewood, from putting up the front fence posts, gates, and much of the fencing, to mowing and edging the grass and paths all summer, from removing fallen trees to putting up blinds.
