Welcome to a
Summer of Wonder!

At Mousewood, nature is the classroom, and a sense of wonder and magic is woven into each day.

Our half-day summer daycamps are filled with meaningful, hands-on experiences your child won’t soon forget.

🌞 Build fairy houses, stomp like dinosaurs, dig in the mud kitchen, and create art with the forest itself.

Choose your themes and weeks, and join us for a summer full of laughter, discovery, and woodland wonder.

🎨 Arts in the Woods & Crafty Kids (Ages 3–6)

July 20–24 (Monday–Friday)

Nature becomes the art studio.

  • Sculpt, print, and create with forest textures

  • Make rock creatures, yarn-wrapped sticks, silly tree faces and woodland art

  • Dance, sing and make music to your hearts content

A focus on process art, creativity, and self-expression—no two creations alike.

🐞 Bugs, Critters & Creatures (Ages 4–6)

July 27–31 (Monday–Friday)

Get up close with the tiny (and not-so-tiny) creatures that call the forest home.

This week is all about slowing down, looking closely, and discovering the hidden life all around us—from the soil beneath our feet to the edges of the pond.

  • Go on a bug safari

  • Search for small forest creatures from ants to voles and learn about where they live

  • Explore pond life through pond dipping (what might we find?)

  • Look for frogs, toads, and other wetland visitors

  • Build a bug hotel and mini habitats for tiny creatures

  • Ask big questions like: Is a worm a bug? Who lives under logs? What makes a habitat a home?

Children will practice careful observation, gentle handling, and respect for living things as they discover the rich, often overlooked world of small creatures.

Curiosity leads the way as we explore, wonder, and learn together. 🌿
